Who Can Be Covered?

The scheme material sets out eligibility across children, adults and senior members, with additional conditions applying to some categories.

Who Can Be Covered?

Key eligibility categories

  • Children: 38 weeks–18 years.
  • Adults: 19–65 years; last joining age stated as 60 years.
  • Seniors: 65 years and above.
  • The later category section states senior members can join at 61–75, while existing members may have extended cover subject to the stated conditions and medical report.
  • Dependent children are eligible from 0 month (term baby of 38 weeks) up to 18 or 25 years as stated; children with disabilities are covered while the principal member remains covered.

Waiting Periods

Important before cover starts

  • Illness admission: 30 days.
  • Accident-related admission: no waiting period.
  • Non-accidental major/minor surgeries or admissions: 12 months.
  • Neo-natal, prematurity and congenital conditions: 12 months.
  • Specified chronic/pre-existing/organ transplant/HIV/AIDS/cataract items: 12 months.
  • Maternity complications/normal delivery: 10 months.
Territorial limits: Kenya only, with extension worldwide excluding UK, USA & Canada while on business or holiday, up to 8 weeks from date of travel, as stated in the brochure.
